Joshua Denniley (Sarge)

Hey all! I grew up in Green Bay Wisconsin and so yes, a cheesehead from birth! Growing up we always traveled and were taught to keep an open mind to the world while enjoying all it has to offer. While I was consistently active in many sports in my youth, activities revolving around the river and water were what my heart gravitated towards.

As the nickname implies, I spent some time in the military after graduating high school. During my 8 years in the Marine Corps my passion for travel and adventure only grew as I visited cultures across the world while tackling the challenges of military life.

Once my time in the service came to an end I set my sites on a new nomadic lifestyle, the life of a raft guide. I spent 10+ years as a raft guide, working across the country and internationally. During my time guiding in California I was fortunate enough to meet the person I wanted by my side as we explored all life has to offer.

My next career move that facilitated my need to be outdoors and explore new areas was into the realm of rope access. Primarily working on wind turbines I was again traveling the country repelling down towering wind turbines repairing and taking pictures. The skills I gained while hanging from ropes afforded me a unique opportunity to do similar work, this time inside of football stadiums and arenas. I had found work as an independent contractor for SkyCam, an aerial camera company that does videography for live sporting events.

During my 6 years with the company I was able to advance from rigging the system to coordinating production to finally flying and operating the aerial camera. I was lucky enough to walk away with 2 team Emmy Awards, one with the NFL and one with the NCAA during that exciting time. After garnering such valuable experience, I decided that with the help of my wife, I would like to start my own photography company, and HERE WE ARE!

My primary organization of choice to donate to is American Whitewater. They do outstanding work on river conservation as well as protecting our future river assets and restoring our damaged and man-handled ones. American Whitewater also is active in sponsoring and supporting boating and other outdoor festivals and events. Check out there website to help support or if you are just looking for some river flow information.

Laura Denniley

Hello friends! I have always lead a nomadic life, being lucky enough to live out west, on the east coast and in the south all before turning 18. After graduating high school in Kentucky I headed west again to study Early Childhood Education at the University of Northern Colorado.

Always sick with the travel bug, between semesters I decided to venture out to California to raft guide. There I was fortunate enough to meet my best friend and now partner in life. I took pictures for multiple rafting companies in addition to guiding, the whole time my eyes also set on my teaching degree. We continued the seasonal living through my final few years in college. This lead to a full time teaching position in Colorado, while Josh traveled with Skycam, advancing his photography skills.

My dad became ill with ALS, also know as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Without much hesitation, I quit my teaching position to help care for him full time. We were so fortunate and grateful to be able to spend this quality time with my dad until he passed away. One of his hobbies and passions was photography. Through that hard growing experience and shared love Josh and I decided it was time to start our own photography business. Life is too short not to do what you love. We have been gifted some of his equipment and so it feels like he is a part of every project we take on.

My organization of choice to donate to is the Dennis Lubeley Foundation or the ALS Rocky Mountain Chapter. The Dennis Lubeley Foundation raises money specifically for speech and technology equipment. The ALS Rocky Mountain Chapter provides support, services and research to those with ALS and their loved ones fighting this disease in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.

Kelly’s Whitewater Park in Cascade Idaho has a very special place in both Laura and Joshua’s hearts. A place where their souls feel at home and that captures so much of the West’s amazing beauty. A true hidden gem for all river enthusiasts, it also boasts amazing walking/biking paths, beach volleyball, bocci ball, and more! A worthwhile destination for sure so please come make a visit and see us on the water! Along with the organizations above, Fluid Photography also actively likes to donate to this magical place as well so it may continue to remain free for all!
